Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s wife Erika Kirk made her first public address on Friday, two days after her husband was assassinated at the first stop of his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University.
Erika spoke of her husband’s legacy, his passion for the United States of America, and his zeal for Jesus Christ.
“Two days ago, my husband Charlie, went to see the face of his savior and his God. Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for his courage and for his faith,” she said. “And one of the final conversations that he had on this earth, my husband witnessed for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
“Now, and for all eternity, he will stand at his savior’s side, wearing the glorious crown of a martyr,” she continued.
Erika pleaded with those watching to become a member of a church if they are not already, and to pick up the mission of spreading the gospel.
“But most important of all, if you aren’t a member of a church, I beg you to join one — a Bible believing church,” she said. “Our battle is not simply a political one. Above all, it is spiritual. It’s spiritual. The spiritual warfare is palpable.”
“Charlie loved his savior with all of his heart, and he wanted every one of you to know him too,” she continued. “He wanted everyone to know that if they confess, if they confess the Lord Jesus Christ who rose from the dead, then they will be saved.
“Hear me when I say this. Nobody is ever too young to know the gospel. Nobody. Nobody is ever too young to get involved with saving this beautiful country — this country my husband loved and still loves,” she said. “And nobody is ever too old either. There’s no age limit. I know my husband is still here. He’s watching over us.”
Charlie Kirk, 31, is survived by his wife Erika and his two young children. The suspect in Kirk’s assassination has since been arrested and identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Kirk’s body was transported back to Phoenix, Arizona, on Air Force Two, with Vice President JD Vance leading the military honor guard escorting Kirk’s casket.
President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will honor Kirk posthumously with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He said on Friday that he will attend his funeral.

Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, pledged to carry on her late husband’s ‘conservative movement’ during an emotional broadcast Friday evening.
Speaking just days after Charlie, 31, was fatally shot while addressing a crowd at Utah Valley University, Erika, 36, vowed to continue his work with Turning Point USA and uphold his legacy.
‘There will be even more tours in the years to come,’ she said, referring to her husband’s nationwide ‘American Comeback’ tour, which had brought him to university campuses across the country.
The conservative commentator – known for his fierce MAGA views and combative debates with college kids across the country – was struck by a single bullet during the Wednesday event and later died from his injuries.
Despite the tragedy, the heartbroken wife said the organization’s annual conference, Americafest, will still take place in December in Phoenix, Arizona.

‘It will be greater than ever,’ she said. ‘The radio and podcast show that he was so proud of will go on.’
During the Friday evening broadcast, Erika stood next to the empty chair once used by Charlie in his studio while she tearfully addressed the online audience.
She had to pause several times to catch her breath and wipe away tears as she called on her husband’s followers to become members of a church, just before making a vow to her late husband.
‘Charlie, I promise I will never let your legacy die, baby,’ she said. ‘I promise I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.’
Her comments came just hours after the man alleged to have shot and killed her husband was identified and arrested.
Wearing an emerald green shirt and white blazer, Erika thanked President Donald Trump and his family for their support following the shooting during her roughly 16-minute remarks.
‘Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him too. He did. Your friendship was amazing. You supported him so well, as did he for you,’ she said.
She also thanked Vice-President JD Vance and his wife Usha for ‘bringing him home’
She also thanked employees of Turning Point USA – which her husband co-founded.
‘My heart is with everyone of my husband’s employees who lost a friend and a mentor,’ she said. ‘He loved what he did.’
She thanked law enforcement and the ‘first responders who struggled heroically to save Charles’ life, and the police who acted bravely to ensure there were no other victims on that terrible afternoon’.
Charlie’s death is being treated as a political assassination.
A photo of Charlie could be seen displayed on her podium, with the caption: ‘May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving savior.’
‘Charlie said if he ever ran for office, his top priority would be to revive the American family. That was his priority,’ Erika said.
‘Charlie loved life. He loved his life. He loved America,’ she added before describing some of her husband’s hobbies, and his favorite sports teams.
‘Go ducks,’ she said with a smile, referring to the Oregon University sports team, adding that he would want her to say that because they play this weekend.
‘But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that everyday.’
Following her roughly 15-minute address, the recent widow took to Instagram, posting eerie photos of her grieving alongside her husband’s open casket.
‘The sound of this widow weeping echoes throughout this world like a battle cry,’ the post’s caption reads.
‘I have no idea what any of this means. But baby I know you do and so does our Lord. They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife. If they thought my husband’s mission was big now.. you have no idea,’ the post continued.
The ‘weeping widow’ continued writing a vengeful message to her followers.
‘You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband I’ll make sure of it.’

Republican revolt over Utah governor after explosive Charlie Kirk feud revealed
Utah governor Spencer Cox basked in praise for his ‘unity’ plea at Friday’s FBI press conference — but the man whose alleged assassin he was discussing once wanted him expelled from the Republican Party.
Cox dominated the podium detailing Charlie Kirk’s murder just three years after the TPUSA founder branded him a ‘weak moderate’ who ‘should be expelled from the Republican party’.
The 2022 social media blast came after Cox vetoed a bill banning biological males from women’s sports — a move that infuriated Kirk and conservative activists.
Now friends of the slain activist find it ‘ironic’ that the same governor Kirk wanted kicked out of the GOP pushed aside FBI officials to control the narrative around his death.
The feud ran deeper: Cox also threatened to veto a statewide ban on transgender surgeries for minors, prompting Kirk to accuse him of being ‘paid off by Big Pharma who make billions off hormone blockers and chemical castration’.
Yet on Friday, in a stunning about-face, Cox opened the press conference by claiming he was ‘inspired by Kirk’s writings and beliefs’ — urging the dead activist’s followers to let their ‘anger fade’.
The governor’s sudden reverence for a man who’d savaged him as corrupt rang hollow to those who remembered their bitter public battles.

Gov. Cox spoke for the majority of the time at the press conference while FBI officials looked on
‘My young friends out there, you are inheriting a country where politics feels like rage. It feels like rage is the only option. But through those words, we have a reminder that we can choose a different path,’ Cox said, pleading with Kirk’s supporters to ‘find an off-ramp, or it’s going to get much, much worse’.
While Kirk made his name by promoting the MAGA movement and ideas on social media, Cox warned young people that ‘social media is a cancer’.
‘I would urge people to log off, turn off, and touch grass,’ he noted.
Pundits immediately praised Cox’s performance, while contrasting it with that of President Trump, who blamed the Left for the violence, pointing to ‘bad people, bad philosophies, ideologies, and politics’.
Cox has promoted more civility in politics, promoting his own ‘Disagree Better’ campaign in public appearances.
Cox’s remarks angered Steve Bannon who spoke to the Daily Mail after his press conference.
‘Spencer Cox is a national embarrassment—in a time where we need action he tells us to sing Kumbaya and hold hands with ANTIFA,’ he said.
‘While the good and decent Charlie Kirk lies in a mortuary awaiting burial he tells us to invite Democrats over for a cookout—the radical Left that burns Portland daily and shoots up school kids weekly.
‘This is not a time for treacly pontificating—this is a time to declare ANTIFA a domestic terrorist organization and have the FBI go kick down some doors,’ Bannon added.
MAGA political and legal journalist Julie Kelly also expressed her frustration with Cox to the Daily Mail.
‘It came across as grandstanding to me,’ Kelly said. ‘I don’t know why an elected political figure should be the face of such a critical investigation and something so important that we get right.’
‘I don’t need to be lectured by Spencer Cox about how we should feel, think or act,’ she added, describing Cox’s long speech as a call for ‘surrender’.
‘It was very off-putting,’ she said.
Cox, described by TIME magazine as ‘The Red State Governor Who’s Not Afraid to Be Woke’ famously refused to endorse President Donald Trump’s reelection bid until after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The moderate mild-mannered governor who made a point of sitting down with Democrats was also booed at Utah’s state Republican conventions until he started skipping the gatherings entirely because of their vocal dissent.
While the majority of Kirk supporters maintained silence for the sake of unity, some Trump supporters voiced their frustration with Cox.
‘To all the uninformed clowns out there. Gov. Cox is not “MAGA” – he’s a dirty RINO/Democrat and shameless self-promoter! What a gross, self-consumed man!’ wrote the social media account of the pro-MAGA publication Gateway Pundit.
Cox’s clash with prominent MAGA figures was well known for years.
Journalist Tucker Carlson mocked Cox as a ‘cut-rate Gavin Newsom imitator’ in 2022 pointing out that Cox once announced his ‘gender pronouns’ at a town hall and signed a Utah Compact on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion after he was elected governor.
Cox was insulted, insisting in an interview afterwards that ‘there is nobody more cowardly than Tucker Carlson’.
But after widespread criticism from party activists like Kirk, Cox ultimately signed a bill in January 2023 to ban transgender surgeries and sex change procedures for minors.

Booking Records Reveal More About Kirk Shooter
Booking records from the police officers who took the shooter of Charlie Kirk into custody show that investigators were hot on the heels of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson before he confessed to the murder.
From a vantage point about 200 yards away, Robinson was “observed… on the rooftop of the Losee Center building” of Utah Valley University at the time of the shooting. A single shot rang out, striking Kirk, 31, in the neck.
Kirk was transported to the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, where he was pronounced deceased.
Immediate notes taken from the footage of the suspect line up with how Robinson was dressed when apprehended at his home in Washington, Utah.
“Based on surveillance camera footage, Suspect appears to be a white male with dark colored hair, wearing a dark colored hat, sunglasses, a long sleeve black shirt with a picture of an American flag and an eagle printed on the shirt, dark colored jeans, and white/gray shoes with white colored shoelaces (the shoes appear to be consistent with Chuck Taylor/Converse style shoes),” the Utah County Sheriff’s Office writes in its report, which was obtained by Steven Crowder.
Prior to the shooting, Robinson “appears to walk with a stiff, right leg and at a relatively slow pace,” investigators note. Additional cameras captured him walking across a grassy area north of Campus Drive, at which point he walked south through a campus parking lot and approached a pedestrian tunnel beneath the street.
Just 20 minutes before the shooting, Robinson checked the time on his phone and made his way up to the roof of the Losee Center.
“At approximately 1222 hours, Suspect stood up and started running across the rooftop of the Losee Center building. The notable limp from previous surveillance was absent. Suspect ran to the west side of the rooftop and appeared to scoot along the rooftop area as he got closer to the edge of the rooftop,” the report states.
“Suspect laid down in a position consistent with a prone shooting position near the edge of the rooftop and appeared to be facing west, in the direction of the courtyard area The rooftop of the Losee Center building overlooks the courtyard area where the event featuring Charlie Kirk was taking place. The Losee Center building is east of the courtyard area. At approximately 1223 hours, Charlie Kirk was shot.”
After firing a single round, Robinson “sprinted” north on the rooftop, arriving at an edge and lowering himself down to the grass below. He ran through Campus Drive toward the edge of the UVU campus, where authorities later discovered a “bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark colored towel.”
FBI Director Kash Patel later confirmed that the firearm was a Mauser Model 98 .30-06, a common hunting rifle with a scope affixed to it.
On the roof, investigators “discovered a shoe impression on the northeast corner” consistent with the soles of the Converse/Chuck Taylor shoe Robinson was later found wearing.
“On the evening of September 11, 2025, a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend, who contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident. This information was relayed to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office and scene investigators at UVU. This information was also conveyed to the FBI,” the report goes on.
