The two West Virginia National Guard members were ambushed and shot near the White House on Wednesday by an Afghan national who was resettled in the United States through a Biden-era program funded entirely by American taxpayers.
Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving, while Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains in critical condition.
This incident underscores a harsh reality: billions in U.S. tax dollars have been poured into resettling tens of thousands of Afghans, some of whom pose a direct threat to American lives and security.
Author and political commentator Mike Cernovich shared a post breaking down the cost and wrote, “We are being forced to fund our own destruction.”

The shooter, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, entered the U.S. in September 2021 under Operation Allies Welcome (OAW), a hasty resettlement initiative launched by the Biden administration following the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal.
Lakanwal, who had previously worked with the CIA and Afghan partner forces in Kandahar, drove cross-country from his home in Bellingham, Washington, to carry out what authorities describe as a targeted ambush.
Since 2021, the U.S. government has spent over $14 billion on Afghan evacuees, including $8.7 billion specifically for OAW through the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security.
An additional $5.3 billion went to its successor, Enduring Welcome.
A 2021 Department of Defense contract awarded nearly $974 million, with $888 million outlayed, to URS Federal Services International for OAW refugee support at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

That’s your money, hard-working Americans, being used to import potential threats.
Lakanwal’s resettlement in Washington state was facilitated by World Relief, a Soros-linked NGO that receives U.S. taxpayer dollars through USAID.
President Donald Trump is now working overtime to right this wrong, announcing a permanent pause on migration from “Third World countries” and vowing to terminate Biden-era illegal admissions.
This isn’t an isolated tragedy. It’s a symptom of a broken system where Americans are forced to bankroll their own peril. Billions funneled into resettlement have brought over 72,000 Afghans, many with questionable backgrounds, into our neighborhoods.
It’s time to end these reckless programs, secure our borders, and put American safety first.

Afghan National Freed Under Biden Program Arrested After TikTok Bomb Threat in Fort Worth
An Afghan national admitted to the United States under President Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome resettlement program was arrested this week after posting a TikTok video in which he appeared to be building a bomb and referenced Fort Worth as a target, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLauglin reported the arrest of Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, saying he allegedly posted a video on TikTok threatening to blow up a building in Fort Worth, Texas, area with a bomb. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task force teamed up to make the arrest on charges of making terroristic threats.
Alokozay is an Afghan national who was pardoned into the U.S. by the Biden administration. His arrest came one day prior to the vicious attack on two West Virginia National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C. by another Afghan national.
WFAA ABC6 in Dallas reported that Alokozy was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on November 25.

New York State Thumbs Its Nose at Trump and ICE, Lets Loose Almost 7K Illegal Alien Criminals
Far-left New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani hasn’t even taken office yet, but the state has already been hard at work coddling illegal aliens and defying the Trump administration’s efforts to get criminal non-citizens off the streets. In fact, in this year alone, they’ve released almost 7,000 illegals, some of them accused of nasty crimes.
These are the kind of people the left-leaning state is protecting instead of its citizens:
New York state has released nearly 7,000 known illegal migrant criminals without notifying ICE since President Trump took office — including murderers, sexual predators and a maniac booted from the US eight times who attacked an Ithaca cop with a machete, the Department of Homeland Security revealed Monday.
Their rap sheets include 29 homicides, thousands of assaults and hundreds of burglaries, robberies, drug offenses, weapons offenses and sexual predatory offenses, according to DHS.
There are also thousands more still in NYC jails.
This is all thanks to sanctuary laws, which prohibit regular law enforcement from cooperating with ICE. Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin on Monday railed against Democrats like Gov. Kathy Hochul and Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10) for putting the public at risk:
We’re saying that these criminal illegal aliens are exiting the jails and going back onto New York or Chicago or these other sanctuary streets to re perpetuate their crimes. Today, in New York City’s jails are 7,169 criminal illegal aliens. We’re talking about hundreds of murderers, hundreds of sexual predators, drug traffickers, the worst of the worst.
