Sen. Bill Cassidy was denied a third term by Louisiana Republican primary voters Saturday, as he was projected to finish third behind Trump-endorsed Rep. Julia Letlow (R-La.) and state Treasurer John Fleming.
With 92 percent of the vote in, Letlow was leading with 44.8 percent and Fleming was in second with 28.4%, and were projected to be the winners by the Associated Press — while Cassidy brought up the rear with 24.7 percent.
Letlow and Fleming will now advance to a June 27 runoff, with Letlow favored to secure the nomination on the strength of President Trump’s endorsement, which he reiterated with a post on Truth Social Friday as he returned to Washington from a two-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
After the election was called, Trump took a victory lap on social media.
“Bill Cassidy . . . voted to impeach me on preposterous charges that were fake then, and now, are criminally insane!” he wrote on Truth Social. “His disloyalty to the man who got him elected is now a part of legend, and it’s nice to see that his political career is OVER!”
Cassidy, 68, is one of seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump of incitement of insurrection following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. With Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) facing a tough re-election fight this November, that number could be reduced to one — Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — when the 120th Congress convenes on Jan. 3, 2027.
Beyond the impeachment vote, Cassidy also called on Trump to drop out of the 2024 election in the wake of his indictment on charges of hoarding national security documents at Mar-a-Lago and has claimed the administration is not pro-life enough.
Trump got his revenge by pre-emptively endorsing Letlow in January, before she even declared her candidacy, ensuring Cassidy would have to fight for the renomination.
President Trump took one more kick at Cassidy shorty before the results were known, branding him “disloyal” on social media.
“Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana is a disloyal disaster. His entire past campaign for the Senate was about ‘TRUMP,’ how he’s with me all the way, and then, after winning, he turned around and voted to IMPEACH me for something that has now proven to be total “bulls—!” Trump posted on Truth Social Saturday while the vote was going on.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), the most powerful Pelican Stater in Washington, admitted Wednesday that the three-cornered fight left him in an “awkward situation,” saying Letlow was “like a sister to me” and noting that Fleming had preceeded him in representing Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District.

Feds: California Data Company Discriminated Against Qualified Americans for Tech Jobs in Favor of Foreign Workers
A California-based data software company violated federal employment discrimination laws by importing foreign workers for high-paying tech jobs instead of hiring qualified Americans, Labor Department officials say.
On Tuesday, officials announced that Cloudera Inc. has been suspended for 180 days from the federal government’s PERM program, which allows companies to import foreign workers on employment-based green cards.
Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling said Cloudera violated the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by discriminating against qualified Americans in their job application process in favor of foreign workers.
“Protecting the integrity of our immigration and labor systems requires employers to follow the law and provide American workers a fair opportunity to compete for jobs,” Sonderling said in a statement. “Today’s action reflects this Administration’s commitment to holding bad actors accountable when they attempt to circumvent those protections.”
Cloudera’s suspension from the PERM program may be extended pending a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation.
Cloudera “engineered a non-functional recruitment process that prevented qualified American workers from applying for high-paying technology positions while certifying to [the Employment and Training Administration’s Office] that no qualified U.S. workers were available,” officials wrote in a press release.
It is not uncommon for employers to make it difficult for Americans to find such ads for jobs, so executives can claim to the government that they have looked for Americans, that no Americans were available to fill such jobs, and thus be allowed to import foreign workers.
The practice is, in fact, so common that the site Jobs. Now tracks such PERM jobs and posts them so that Americans can apply.
Breitbart News reached out to Cloudera for comment and did not receive a response.

SHOCKER: TMZ Founder Harvey Levin Drops Nuclear Truth Bomb Against Democrat-Ruled Los Angeles: “The City Has Fallen Apart” – Admits Homeless Nightmare, Crime Explosion Under Radical Left Policies
For years, Hollywood elites either kept quiet or ran interference for the same Democrat machine that has overseen the steady decline of America’s once-great cities.
Now, even TMZ founder Harvey Levin has finally told the unvarnished truth about what radical Democrat policies have done to the once-great City of Angels.
Levin, the man who built a media empire chronicling celebrity scandals from the heart of LA, didn’t hold back as he described watching his hometown crumble under years of failed progressive leadership during a special episode of 2 Angry Men, where he joined by attorney Mark Geragos and Los Angeles Magazine writer Lauren Conlin.
During the discussion, Levin detailed the horrifying personal toll of the Democrat-created homelessness and crime crisis that radical leftists like Mayor Karen Bass and her progressive allies have inflicted on residents.
In another disturbing encounter, Levin said a homeless woman destroyed his vehicle with a boulder while he watched helplessly.
Harvey Levin: “I’m not only a born-and-raised Los Angelino, but I’m second generation. My dad was born and raised in L.A., so this is my life. And I have seen this city just fall apart, you know, over the last—I don’t know—eight or nine years, but especially the last four years. The homeless problem is out of control in this city.
I’ve been chased by people—a guy with a hammer, walking out of my gym. He chased me with a hammer. I had a mentally ill woman, a homeless woman, take a boulder and trash my car. And I caught her doing it. And I realized there is nothing I can do. What am I gonna do—get her arrested? I mean, what is that gonna do? Am I gonna sue her?
So I literally looked at my car, watched her walk away, and said, ‘I live in Los Angeles.’
And, you know, the fires have been an absolute outrage in this city. This didn’t have to happen. We had 100 fire trucks that were out of service. The water pressure was messed up, and people lost their homes as a result of bad leadership. And then, all of a sudden, people are throwing other people under the bus for no reason.
This city operated in an appalling way during the fires. And by the way, it’s not over. The insurance companies are screwing people over left and right. I’ve got a friend—his name is Dan Brun. He’s an amazing architect. He put together a plan with 100 architects to offer their services free of charge to rebuild Altadena and Pacific Palisades.
And they had a whole plan. I actually contacted Gavin Newsom, and Newsom actually put his people in touch with Dan, and they were all in. Then they brought it down to the city, which they had to do, and it died a slow death in the City of Los Angeles.
So this city is not working.”
