Mitch McConnell seen being loaded into ambulance after apparent cardiac arrest, new video shows

New video shows former Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell being loaded into an ambulance after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his Capitol Hill home last month.

New video shows former Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell being loaded into an ambulance after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his Capitol Hill home last month.

The video, shot by a neighbor of McConnell and published by CNN Friday, shows DC Fire and EMS personnel wheeling the 84-year-old on a stretcher on the morning of June 14.

The Kentucky Republican’s face is not visible, and his lower legs appear to be covered by an orange blanket with his bare feet protruding. The neighbor related to the outlet that another eyewitness had told them that McConnell was not wearing an oxygen mask when he was transported to a local hospital.

“One of my neighbors is like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s Mitch, I saw his face,’” the anonymous resident told CNN.

Sen. Mitch McConnell brought to ambulance on a stretcher

A neighbor of Sen. Mitch McConnell shared video with CNN from the morning of June 14 showing a person being wheeled on a stretcher toward an ambulance. The video shows McConnell’s house on the day his team said he was hospitalized, and the neighbor said another witness relayed that the person on the stretcher was McConnell.

Previously released dispatch audio indicated that McConnell had been found “unconscious” at his home and that first responders had performed CPR on him. The neighbor who shot the video told CNN that paramedics showed no sign of concern or panic about their patient’s health.

“In a situation where perhaps time is of the essence, there seems to be a little bit more urgency, but there was no urgency here,” they said.

Rumors about the 84-year-old’s health have swirled since his hospitalization, with some far-right commentators claiming that McConnell was left “brain dead” by his medical episode.

Senate Republican leadership and McConnell’s office have insisted that he is on the mend and keeping in touch with his colleagues about the issues of the day.

Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) issued a statement earlier this week saying that he and McConnell spoke by phone Monday and shared “a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security.”

Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) put out a similar comment, saying the two had a phone call that lasted “roughly 20 minutes” and that McConnell was “fully engaged and is eager to get back to the Senate.”

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings, a former McConnell adviser, said Tuesday that his former boss had called him that day and “sounded strong.”

McConnell, the longest-serving party leader in the history of the Senate, headed the GOP conference for 18 years before stepping down in January 2025. He was last seen at the Capitol June 4.

ZeroHedge – On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

New video shows emergency responders loading Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) onto a stretcher and into an ambulance outside his Capitol Hill residence on the morning of June 14, the same day the longtime Senate Republican leader was hospitalized.

The neighbor-recorded footage, first published Friday by CNN, depicts emergency vehicles – including multiple ambulances and a fire truck – clogging the street near McConnell’s home as first responders wheel a person identified by witnesses as the 84-year-old senator toward an ambulance. The individual’s face is not clearly visible in the video, but their lower legs and feet were seen under an orange blanket.

Dispatch Audio Cited Cardiac Arrest And CPR

The video adds new weight to emergency dispatch audio previously obtained by an independent journalist and reported by CNN. In that recording, responders were dispatched to McConnell’s known address for an “unconscious” person experiencing a “cardiac arrest,” with a paramedic heard saying “CPR in progress.”

A neighbor who spoke with CNN said officers described it only as a “medical emergency” at the time but confirmed through another eyewitness that the person on the stretcher was McConnell. No sirens were used as the ambulance left the scene.

Prolonged Hospitalization Raises Questions

McConnell has remained hospitalized for nearly a month. His office has released only terse updates saying he is “receiving excellent care” and “continues his recovery,” with few specifics on his condition or prognosis. The opacity has fueled rampant speculation in Washington political circles and on social media.

Some Republican allies, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune and commentator Scott Jennings, have said they’ve spoken with McConnell recently and described his voice as strong. Still, the lack of detailed medical disclosures stands in contrast to the public nature of the emergency response now coming into view. Others mocked it as covering up for ‘weekend at Mitch’s.’

The incident marks the latest health scare for McConnell, who has a well-documented history of falls, concussions and other episodes. As a towering figure in Senate Republican politics for decades, his extended absence continues to ripple through the chamber and the broader party.

McConnell’s office declined to comment on the new video or audio.

Department of Labor Announces Gavin Newsom’s California Owes OVER $22 BILLION to U.S. Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund – The ONLY State Still in Debt, Slamming Businesses with Higher Federal Payroll Taxes

The radical left’s favorite golden boy is running the once-great state of California straight into the ground.

The Trump Labor Department announced Wednesday that California Governor Gavin Newsom’s failed administration owes more than $22 billion to the U.S. Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund.

This staggering debt comes from loans California took during the COVID-19 pandemic to pay unemployment benefits — benefits that were looted by massive fraud under Newsom’s watch. California is now the only state in the entire country with an outstanding federal unemployment insurance loan balance.

As a direct result, California business owners are being forced to pay higher federal payroll taxes to bail out Sacramento’s incompetence and corruption. Every other state that borrowed during the pandemic has repaid its loans. Not Newsom’s California.

During and after the pandemic, California raked in record budget surpluses, at one point nearing $100 billion. Instead of using that taxpayer windfall to repay the federal loan like responsible states did, Newsom and the Democrat supermajority in Sacramento sat on the money, spent it on other priorities, and let the debt balloon with interest.

The state has paid $1.8 billion in interest since 2021, with Newsom’s latest budget proposing another $668 million in interest payments this year while putting zero dollars toward the actual principal.

The bill keeps growing. The California EDD’s UI Fund Forecast officially projects the outstanding loan balance to reach $22.0 billion by the end of 2026.

The Trump administration has also signaled that it is expanding its scrutiny of unemployment insurance programs beyond California. During an interview with Maria Bartiromo, U.S. Department of Labor Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito warned that New York is hemorrhaging taxpayer dollars through fraud and improper payments.

“You take a place like New York… the state of New York is losing between $1.5 and $2 million per day in either overpayments or fraud. That’s per day, not per week, not per month, not per year. Almost $2 million per day.”

D’Esposito added that the Labor Department is deploying a federal strike team to investigate the losses.

“Next week we’re going to have a strike team heading into New York to start reviewing all of these documents so that we can make sure that the money is kept for the American people.”
